Galería Maior – Palma

Espacio: ‘THE WINDOW ROOM’

Galería Maior exhibits in the new space ‘The Window Room’ from Palma, in PalmaPhoto 2013, the newest works from the photographer Manu Mielniezuk (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1979).

His images, focused on documenting everyday life, request the viewer to observe banal situations, distant from the exoticism that some sort of traditional photography have already overworked.

His work receives the direct legacy of American documentary photography, a road-movie photo which has among its gurus to Walker Evans, Stephen Shore, Robert Adams and Alec Soth.

We assume that the photograph looks for, somehow, represent reality. We identify what we see as real because is in the picture, it's happening. Images from Manu Mielniezuk appeal to our emotions, our irrational part as spectators. They push us to analyze the different elements of society, because society is ultimately self-creation and images, the tool we have for testing.
